concept process - Interestingly enough it began a bit simpler, more like a zombie in a space suit, but AD and team were more like "More more! More corruption!" even to the idea of the back monster which was rejected by the animators because of time.
3D analysis - when the downsize of the texture to 512 in game, it helps to meld things together
